Medical Information

Should you have a pre-existing medical condition such as Asthma, Australian Scuba Diving Standards require you have a current Medical Form (AS4005.1) completed by a Medical Practitioner. If you do not have any pre-existing medical conditions, you will simply be required to sign a medical declaration before diving. Australian Scuba Diving Standards require that all certified divers are medically fit to dive. Should you have a pre-existing medical condition such as Asthma, you will be required to have a Medical Form (AS4005.1) completed by a Medical Practitioner with knowledge of diving medicine, prior to your arrival on Lizard Island. This form must be presented to the Lizard Island Marine Centre prior to you participating in any form of diving.

If you do not have any pre-existing medical conditions, you will simply be required to sign a medical declaration confirming you are fit and well, prior to diving.

Final medical clearance is at the discretion of the island Marine and Medical teams. A list of accredited doctors can be obtained from the website for the South Pacific Underwater Medicine Society: www.spums.org.au.
